Roughly €350–€700 per m² installed for hardwood, and €450–€850 per m² for marine-grade aluminium, all-in — panels, hardware, finish and installation.

Can you fit arched or angled windows?

Yes. Arches, triangles, trapezoids and oversized openings are our specialty — we template on site and manufacture panels to the exact geometry.

How long is the lead time?

8–10 weeks from signed order to installation: 1 week survey and drawings, 6–8 weeks manufacture and shipping from the UK atelier, 1–3 days on site.

What warranty do shutters come with?

5 years covering panels, hinges, tilt rods and finish as standard on every project.

Do shutters reduce heat and cooling costs?

Substantially. Full-height plantation shutters block direct solar gain at the glass, reducing measured room temperatures by 3–5°C in summer and cutting AC load accordingly.

Which shutter material is best for the Algarve?

Marine-grade aluminium within 500 m of the coast, hardwood plantation shutters inland. Both come with a 10-year warranty. MDF-core shutters are not suitable for the Algarve climate and we don't specify them.

Do plantation shutters actually keep an Algarve villa cool?

Yes — measurably. Closed shutters cut solar gain through a south-facing window by around 60% versus glass alone, without shutting off airflow when the louvres are tilted. That's typically 3–5 °C off an interior in mid-summer.

Do you cover all of the Algarve?

How long from first contact to installed shutters?

Are the shutters made in Portugal?

The shutters themselves are British-engineered and UK-manufactured to your exact reveal — that's the specification standard we insist on. Survey, project management and installation are all handled by our Algarve-based team.

What we make

Shutters engineered for southern light and salt air.

Every Signature shutter is measured on site, drawn to fit the exact opening, and built to order in our UK atelier — in kiln-dried hardwood for inland villas or marine-grade aluminium within 500 m of the coast. Nothing off-the-shelf, ever.

Materials: Kiln-dried basswood or paulownia with baked polyurethane, or 6063-T5 marine aluminium with powder-coat. 316-grade stainless hardware throughout.
Openings: Standard rectangles, arches, triangles, gables and oversized panels up to 3 m high — templated on site.
Finishes: 50+ factory colours, colour-match to any RAL, or Farrow & Ball reference. Fully finished at the factory — never painted after fitting.
Lead time & warranty: 8–10 weeks from order to install. 5-year warranty on panels, hardware, motors and workmanship.
